Not surprising. I had lunch last week with my daughter's old club coach at

Wagner's, one of the premier showcase teams in the mid-Atlantic. We talked about the coaches in the area who run D1 programs, and Scot Thomas came up in the conversation. He echoed my sentiments as Scot is a coach with a big ego, who thinks he knows a ton about softball because he had a team in the college world series. My friend said that the only reason he got there was because Tincher was the best pitcher in the country, and she was coached by her dad, not Scot. He acknowledged that Thomas has no ability to develop talent. He said that any player that wanted to go to VT, he made sure that the player was purely looking at academics, not softball as any player that goes there is bound to be disappointed by the coaching staff and the overall team performance.
